The photograph shown above, Sunset at Tomales Bay, was made during the first year I photographed at Point Reyes. It is the folio cover image of my 25th Anniversary commemorative collection of photographs: First Photographs, Point Reyes 1986. I love making photographs. I use cameras, both film and digital, to describe my feelings about the beauty of the world as it is revealed by light. The shapes, spaces, lines and textures lit sometimes via the sun, other times by my own device, are what I record with my camera. I’m dedicated to black & white because it best expresses my reactions to what I see. The absence of color allows me to more deeply sense the beauty of the light, forms, and design of this world.
