I was, as I remember, seven years old when I first started modeling and carving objects out of clay. The carving, the modeling, the shaping of objects and graphic representations have been a part of my life ever since; I am at present 72 years old. During most of my adult life I worked in the Graphic Arts Industry, but during that time I have always maintained my own art studio. During my student years, at San Francisco State University where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts, I exhibited extensively at private galleries in San Francisco as well as local Museums and Public Buildings. More recently I was an exhibiting member of the Davis, California Artists Cooperative Gallery and a contributing artist to the Amnesty International Art Exhibits. In 1991 I moved to Quito, Ecuador, in South America, to teach Graphic Design at La Universidad San Francisco de Quito. I taught there for three years, during which time I created and developed a completely new sculpture program for the university, created a 15 foot public sculpture, commissioned by the Municipio de Quito, and had two very successful exhibitions of works that I had created there. I returned to the United States in 1994 and have been teaching, working in my own studio and collaborating with local art foundries creating bronze sculpture. Just recently I have been working on "digital paintings" which affords me a whole new and exciting area of expression.
