My interests in photography began years ago as a young lad holding a Brownie box camera owned by my father. Through the years I have harbored a photography interest in bits and pieces. As a student of Law Enforcement I was trained in Crime Scene Photography. In 1982, I was "Action Photography" runner up, in The Sacramento Bee Newspaper photo contest - a $20.00 award winner! When I first visited the Inverness Ridge in 1960 I realized this was a part of the world where one day, hopefully, I would live. Now in retirement, and a full time Inverness resident, I have the opportunity to rekindle my long-standing passion for outdoor photography. Through the digital camera I gain deep satisfaction when I hear my camera shutter "click" hoping this shot is a "keeper"; hoping it's a quality picture that will portray the amazing beauty of our outdoor environment. My gallery attempts to emphasize Inverness beauty and wildlife. It also includes pictures from the Sierra Nevada's high country where I once worked as a back-country patrolman for the U.S. Forest Service. My goal is to capture authentic wildlife and landscape images and to preserve those images as accurately as possible hoping to provide the viewer a connection with nature, a vicarious experience that will foster a continuing appreciation for our diminishing wild land.
